MÖBELKUNST DESIGN FAIR AND EXHIBITION

October 2, 3, 9, 10.

Two two-day design fairs offer original design furniture, lamps and accessories from 1950-1980 typically from Scandinavia and Hungary. Famous and less famous pieces on 300 m2 complete with a design rummage sale. As a satellite event of the fair the Mix it! selection awaits design fans with inspirational examples of mixing the old with the new. Outstanding objects, daring ideas, wild associations.

DESPLAY

PLAYFUL DESIGN WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN
October 2, 3, 9, 10. 15:00–17:00

At the playful program the slogan of this year's Budapest Design Week, „Design – For Use” is turned into a question: „Design – How could you use it?”. “In the first part of the exciting afternoon we talk and think about useful and beautiful objects that have become the organic parts of our lives. Following a short break we turn each and everyone into a designer and work together to design the objects of the future creating the first prototypes using paper, plastic, waste materials. We await primary school children and their attendants!”

DEMO, DESIGN WEEKEND

Two-day, „sleepover” intensive design course for 9-14 year old children offering a look into the different fields of design through workshops and other creative programs, as well as for personal and cooperative creation.

Design tour to the Fót set design site of MAFILM

October 10.

Márton Ágh, production designer is our guide in the Fót set design site of MAFILM, the oldest and most well-known Hungarian film studio. We can wonder among exceptional outdoor sets, in the alleys of middle age towns, in a castle garden and a monastery – we can get to places where several international super productions were filmed. The tours are 2-hour long including the bus trip.

WAMP DESIGN FAIR

October 10. 10:00–18:00

At Design Week WAMP traditionally looks round among young design graduates. The most recently graduated talents of the best art and design education institutions take centre stage and are introduced in the fresh graduate corner of the fair. Certainly, WAMP's selected designers also await visitors with their ever renewing collections, thematic surprises. WAMP's Designer of the Month is the Artista group that has been noticed by the professional jury as one of the most outstanding, trend-setter Hungarian brands and has from the very beginning been a stable participant of the ever increasingly popular WAMP design fairs.

CREATIVE WORKSHOP

SCREEN PRINTING COURSE – GRAPHIC PRINTING
October 10. 11:00

The aim of the practical course is to teach the basics of screen printing, organised for those interested in the theory behind the method and would also like to make their own creation. The three basic phases are introduces: preparation of the screen frame, the lighting process and the printing, then participants get the chance to prepare a special poster/graphical image design specially for Budapest Design Week. Price of the 2-hour course is 2000 HUF, maximum number of participants is 10. Registration personally at Printa till 9th October, during opening times.

Surprise – for use. The project of the jewellery designers of Eventuell Gallery (Bernadett Bodor, Noémi Gera, Boglárka Imrei, Eszter Máté, András Szilos and Fanni Vékony). In the framework of the event of exciting surprises the experimental jewellery ideas come to life with the participation of the GoBe Dance Company.

PATTERN – DESIGN

At the exhibition organised in the framework of Budapest Design Week pattern designers are introduced. The “PATTERN” Foundation supports and organises the creation and realisation of the collections of Hungarian pattern designers as a professional workshop. Participating textile artists introduce the different layers of their creative activities in the framework of a museum selection focusing on the diversity of patterns and their space defining role.
