Walking-Chair at Budapest Design Week

The daredevils of Austrian design are the star guests this year

Karl Emilio Pircher product designer and Fidel Peugeot graphic designer, founders of Walking-Chair Design Studio give a presentation on 7th October 2011 at the Auditorium of Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design as the star designer guests of this year's Budapest Design Week. (The presentation is held in English, free entry!)

Walking-Chair has been fluttering the dovecots of respectable Austrian (and other) citizens since 2002. The design business they define as a multidisciplinary THINK TANK was named after a real walking chair, while their portfolio consists of further humorous, surprising, provocative and playful objects.

„In the heart of Vienna we make things and songs” is their slogan, yet not only their studio, but also a gallery they founded in 2006 can be found in the heart Vienna, and further to that a business enterprise created as part of their brand-building called Walking-Things dealing with the distribution of their products.

Studios open their gates again at this year's Design Week

A favourite of Design Week fans, Open Studios is being organised this year, as well with 14 design studios and workshops opening their gates wide for visitors. Year after year, visitors of the studios and the designers get to know each other through personal experience that often prove to have lifelong effect, and the studio visits tend to last well into the night.
The initiative of Budapest Design Week aims at introducing its audience into the different fields of design through personal experiences, offering them the opportunity to ask representatives of the given profession and discover the expertise that is essential for the creation of an object, an interior, or a space. It is not only the personality of the designers that make studio visits exciting, but the indefeasible factuality and spirituality of the so attractive creative mess or the very creative order.
